Cookies For Sale

I made the red gingerbread doll for my mum for Mother's Day. While I was making Mum's, I also made the yellow one for me. I have been given strict instructions from mum....no more dolls. She has run out of room for any more, lol. Think now I will bombard her with bags for gifts. Take care.

Concerts

Over the years, I've gone to a few concerts. November last year, I went to see John Mellencamp in concert. Now, I may be biased in what I say about this concert, as I have loved John Mellencamp and his music since I was a teenager. So he could have sounded like crap and I would have still loved it, lol. His support acts were Sheryl Crow and Kasey Chambers' hubby, Shane Nicholson. Now, I have never listened to Shane Nicholson's music. I do have a couple of Kasey Chambers cd's, but she is not someone I listen to a lot. Well I was quite surprised with Shane Nicholson. I enjoyed the songs he sang. Now for Sheryl Crow, even though I don't have any of her music, I have listened to different stuff she has had out over the years. Well I thoroughly enjoyed her performance and thought she was great. She even sang a Crowded House song and did it well. She is someone I would go to see again. Now for my honey, lol. What can I say, loved it. The voice was great, performance was great. I loved how he included the audience into his show. I will be going again if he comes back to Australia. I was a bit peeved, as I didn't take my camera. We weren't allowed to take cameras when I went to the KISS concert a few years back, so I assumed it would be the same for this concert. Well, I assumed wrong, lol, and I would have got some great photos as I was so close. Cameras were going off everywhere. I will know better next time. This year in January, I went to see Neil Young in concert. Love Neil Young and I listen to his music all the time. I didn't see the beginning of the support act, as I was running a bit late. I can't remember who they were but I wasn't impressed, thought they were crap, lol. I loved Neil Young and what he sang. He also played a pipe organ on the stage and I thought that was great too. I was a little disappointed though, as I didn't think he included the audience much. I do think that adds to the atmosphere of a concert if they include the audience. What do you reckon Dave, if you're reading this, you were there, lol. I did take my camera this time so have some pics for you to see, though they're not very good. Take care.

My Babies

Thought you might like a look at my babies. My daughter, Danielle, is nearly 18 now. My dog, Sam, was a giveaway in the local paper. He was only four weeks old when I got him. His mum had eight puppies and couldn't keep up with feeding them all. His mum is a kelpie and his dad is some rogue who jumped the fence, lol. Sammy is now three years old, but still a baby to me. He makes me smile whenever I look at him, I love him so much. He escaped from a friend's yard one weekend a few months ago and I was heartbroken. I spent all weekend walking around looking for him. Luckily, on the Monday, I got a call from the council. He had turned up on the other side of town at someone's house, so we had a happy ending. My galah is called Sidney James. I named him after the pommie actor Sid James. I always thought he was a bit of a galah and loved him in the Carry On movies. My friend found Sid at the side of the road. He was a wild bird and we think he may have been flying near the road and got hit by a car. Her hubby wouldn't let her keep him, so I got him. He had an injured wing and a bit of a head shake going on. He mended well and ended up tame and is a loved member of our family. He is a good talker and is always asking "watcha doing" and guess what, I always answer him and tell him what I'm doing. I'm sure the neighbours think I'm a bit loopy, lol.

My Favourite Things

I just love sunflowers, they are one of my favourite flowers, so bright and cheery. This sunflower popped up in the herb garden near my back door. I didn't have the heart to pull it out when I was weeding and let it grow.

My Blog

I have finally made a start on my blog. It has taken me all morning just to start writing this, not to mention the six months my blog has sat here in blogworld empty, lol. My name is Kerry and I live in Toowoomba, QLD, Australia. I am a primitive crafter, but do enjoy dabbling in various crafts, but dolls are my passion. Through my blog journey, you will see different things I make, swap projects I participate in and various things for sale. Generally, you will be able to have a sticky beak into my life and the things I love. Please be patient while I work on this blog, am a bit of a computer dumb bum and may muck up stuff as I go along, lol. I share my life with my husband Les, daughter Danielle, my dog Sam and my galah, Sid. I have also discovered, it's not easy writing about yourself. Take care.
